What makes a suggestion easy to act on
You don't have to write it up formally — a sentence is fine. But if you have thirty seconds, these three things turn a suggestion into something that can actually get built:
- What you were trying to do, in football terms rather than software terms.
- What you do instead today — including the part you do on paper or in another app.
- How often it comes up. Once a season and every Tuesday are very different problems.
Telling us something is annoying is genuinely useful even if you have no idea how to fix it. Working out the fix is our job; noticing the problem is the part only you can do.
If you're reporting a bug, the most useful extra detail is what you expected to happen and what happened instead, plus roughly when — that's usually enough to find it in the logs.
