Playbook is where your staff sketches formations on a real canvas, tags every play by down, distance, hash, and personnel, and turns the library into a call sheet that's ready before kickoff.
Most staffs juggle a drawing tool, a spreadsheet, a print shop, and a group chat. Playbook is the one-stop shop: everything between Saturday's film and Friday's kickoff lives in one place.
A real play designer
Draw formations, routes, and blocking on a field canvas with undo, revisions, and printable play cards. Draw one play against every front you'll see -- variants live inside the play, not as five duplicates -- and flip 32 Blast into 31 Blast in one click.
Tags that think like a coach
Down, distance, field zone, hash, personnel -- plus any dimension your program invents. Filters combine, so “3rd and short, left hash, 12 personnel” is one query, not a Friday-night binder hunt.
Call sheets & wristbands
Build game-day call sheets straight from your tagged library, auto-fit to one printed page, and generate wristband inserts from the same data. Change the play once; every sheet follows.
Practice scripts & scouting
Script practice periods from your own plays, chart opponents, and generate a scouting-report PDF with game plans drawn against every front they run.
Teach it to your players
Install plays to a player app, push alerts when the game plan changes, auto-generate recognition quizzes from your own tags, and attach short coach-recorded video walkthroughs.
A community play library
Browse coach-submitted plays by category and level -- Spread, Power Run, 4-3, Punt Return -- and copy any approved play straight into your own playbook. Share yours back when it wins.
The price sheet
Pay like a youth program, not a pro franchise
Annual plans save you at least 29%. And the price you sign up at is yours for good — we never raise it on an active subscription.
Whatever you pay when you subscribe is what you keep paying, for as long as your subscription stays active. If we raise prices later, that is for new signups — not for you. No renewal surprises, no “introductory rate,” no annual increase letter.
Two honest details: changing plans moves you to that plan’s current price, and if you cancel outright and come back later, you start again at whatever the price is then. Cancel any time from your settings, in two clicks.

How Playbook stacks up
FirstDown PlayBook sells pre-drawn plays. Just Play sells installs. Hudl sells film. Playbook covers the coaching work between them — at a fraction of the combined bill.

The film-room Q&A
Questions coaches ask
How much does Playbook cost?
Playbook is free for a single coach with up to 20 active plays. Paid plans run $96 to $840 per year: Coach ($96/yr) for unlimited plays, Staff ($240/yr) for up to 10 coaches with scouting tools, Team ($400/yr) to add player accounts with installs and quizzes, and Program ($840/yr) to cover every team in a program under one bill.
Is Playbook a replacement for Hudl?
No — Hudl is a film platform, and Playbook doesn't host or exchange game film today. Playbook covers everything around the film: designing plays, tagging situations, building call sheets and practice scripts, scouting opponents, and teaching players. Many staffs run both.
What levels of football is Playbook built for?
Youth and high school 11-man football first. The play designer, tagging, and community library all support youth and high-school level content, and Program pricing is built for varsity/JV/youth organizations that share coaches and promote players year over year.
Do my players need accounts?
Only on the Team and Program plans. Players get a read-only app: the plays you install, alerts when the plan changes, auto-generated recognition quizzes, and any video walkthroughs you attach. They can't edit anything, and there's no messaging surface to moderate.
Will my price go up later?
No. The price you subscribe at is locked for as long as your subscription stays active — future price changes only ever apply to new signups.
